FACTS: There were no V code convertibles produced in 1971, nor was the R/T package available on the convertible. So there is no such thing as a real one There were 99 V codes built in 1970, (38 automatics, 61 4-speeds), if you can find one, they sell for $200, 000 or more.This car was built as a could have been, but with upgrades. You can build one yourself if you wish.1971 Challenger convertible: 440 six pack date code 11/66 block, Tremec 5-speed transmission, 4 wheel disc brakes, front and rear sway bars, handles like a go-kart. 3 speaker dash. Cragar SS wheels. The car was disassembled down to the body/chassis. (You cant do a frame off on a unit body) and was completely redone. No corner cutting, even a new wiring harness. The rally dash I do not think was original to the car, so mileage does not mean anything. Drive anywhere, get 15 mpg on the open road.I drive this car a few hundred miles a year, so the mileage will increase.
